LSU beat Oklahoma 21-14 in the Sugar Bowl to become national champions!!!
We partied in New Orleans from Friday till Monday. It was like Mardi Gras down there. We had a nice hotel that was close enough to everything where we parked our vehicle Friday night and didn't get it until we left Monday. We walked everywhere. We also went to the D-Day museum. It was really nice, but I'd like to go back since they kicked us out because they were closing and we were only about half way through it. Here's some pictures from the weekend and the game. Here's a video that Kris took on his digital camera of Bourbon Street right after LSU won. The pictures came from two cameras and there's a lot of them and I don't feel like trying to put them in order - I'm lazy.
So many choices, so little time.
This sign was up Friday in Albertsons in Baton Rouge... oh yeah, that's Chamila.
Kris has this thing where he's got to take a picture of the Cane's people.
Here's the view at night from our hotel.
Pat O's fire and water.
Another view of it.
Taken from the River Walk. It was a really foggy night.
Inside The Kerry's Irish Pub having a pint of Guinness. That's Kris, Chamila and me. The Kerry's was right across the street from our hotel - how nice was that?!?!
Chamila playing pool.
Here's me playing pool.
This was next-door to The Kerry's. The bull didn't move, but that didn't stop us.
This is me running and turning the bull as Chamila rides it.
Here's our lovely bartenders. Notice the PBR on tap.
Here's another bar we went to.
I was pointing at this cool bat looking thing they had on the ceiling. yeah, that's it. This was at 4:17am.
Kris and I eating at Hooters.
Guess who else was eating there? Lee Corso.
Here's me, Lee Corso, and Chamila.
Here's Lee Corso when he was leaving Hooters.
This was a pep rally they had outside the D-Day museum.
Garrett and Aubre at the Cafe Du Monde - both having beer instead of coffee.
The NOFD near our hotel. I liked the LSU stuff they had on the trucks.
By this time, Chamila was feeling no pain.
Say cheese.
Kris saw Candice while hanging out at a bar while we went to the game.
Part of Kris and Garrett.
Part of Aubre and Garrett after LSU won.
This guy had the head of the Oklahoma's QB on a noose.
Bourbon Street after LSU wins.
LSU - the real #1.
No comments needed.
LSU - #1.
ok... The rest are from Chamila's camera. This was the inside of our hotel.
More pictures of the pep rally.
Mike the Tiger was there too.
Here's an LSU bike we saw near Bourbon Street.
Cheese.
This was a tailgating party heading towards the Dome.
There were people everywhere.
More people.
Even more people.
Still more people.
Maybe somebody will recognize themselves in these.
Me, my dad, Chamila, and Roby outside the Dome. I guess the OU fans are a little slow. I'd like the Dome in the background that's to the left and not this generic building.
The Hyatt across from the Dome.
Nokia had a stage and band playing with nice displays there.
Inside the Dome.
The 2004 Nokia Sugar Bowl.
This was either ESPN or ABC - I'm not sure.
...and in this corner was the other one.
The LSU band sat in this corner.
The score before the game. It didn't stay 0-0 for long.
This is when they came out to practice.
Here comes the Golden Band from Tigerland!!!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
Spelling out L S U.
This was a huge flag they had there for the pregame show.
A closer view.
Here comes the LSU Tigers - under the smoke.
Jessica Simpson sang the national anthem. She's the blonde in the green shirt. I wonder why she didn't call me after the game?
A lot of people on the field had sparklers.
Here's the opening kickoff.
This was smoke from the half-time show.
Here's us inside the Dome.
21-14 LSU wins the Sugar Bowl and becomes the national champions!!!
